Results That
File Themselves.

Every engagement is measured against a baseline. Every number below is audited, attributed, and reproducible.

Scope 3 — Fan Travel
Manchester, England

Northern Premier League Club

–62%
matchday emissions
"Sustain didn't just write a strategy. They sat in the operations room, mapped every fan journey, and built a modal shift programme that the board approved in a single session."
Head of Sustainability, Premier League Club

The club faced a filing deadline under CSRD and a board that had never quantified Scope 3 exposure. Fan travel — 38,000 supporters arriving predominantly by private car every other Saturday — represented 71% of the total carbon footprint. The number was uncomfortable. It was also an opportunity.

Sustain deployed a three-phase intervention: a full Scope 1–3 baseline audit using GHGP Sport methodology, a behavioural economics-led fan travel programme anchored to matchday transport partnerships, and a data infrastructure layer that feeds the annual sustainability report automatically.

Within 14 months, measurable modal shift reduced matchday emissions by 62%. The club filed its first CSRD-compliant report with zero restatements. The board approved a five-year net-zero roadmap in the same quarter.

Environmental Impact Narrative
European Capital City

Olympic Bid Committee

–78%
vs. legacy Games footprint
"The IOC evaluation panel cited our environmental chapter as the most credible they had reviewed in three bid cycles. That chapter was Sustain's work."
Bid Director, National Olympic Committee

Olympic bids live or die on credibility. When the evaluation commission opens an environmental chapter and finds aspirational language without methodology, the score reflects it. This committee arrived with ambition and a 14-month window before submission.

Sustain built the entire environmental impact narrative from the ground up — venue-by-venue carbon modelling, transport demand forecasting, legacy infrastructure analysis, and a climate risk register aligned to the IOC's Sustainability Strategy 2020+. Every claim was referenced to a verifiable data source.

The submitted chapter passed IOC technical review without a single clarification request — a first for this national committee. The bid advanced to the final evaluation stage. The environmental score ranked first among competing cities.

Net-Zero Roadmap — Venue Operations
UK & Ireland, 8 venues

Multi-Venue Arena Group

£4.1M
energy cost reduction
"We had sustainability targets on paper. Sustain gave us the operational playbook to actually hit them — and a financial case that made the CFO the loudest champion in the room."
Chief Operating Officer, Arena Group

Eight venues. Four different energy contracts. Two legacy buildings with no BMS integration. The group's sustainability director had a board mandate and no roadmap. Standard consultancy engagements had produced reports. None had produced results.

Sustain ran a 90-day operational audit across all eight venues simultaneously — energy consumption profiling, refrigeration plant assessment, lighting controls gap analysis, and a renewable procurement review. The output was not a report. It was a prioritised intervention register, each line item costed, sequenced, and assigned an owner.

Phase one interventions — LED retrofits, refrigeration optimisation, and a group-wide renewable PPA — delivered £4.1M in annualised energy cost reduction within 18 months. Scope 1 and 2 emissions fell 41%. The CFO presented the case study at the group's investor day.

Our Approach

Three Phases.
No Exceptions.

01
Audit Phase

Baseline & Materiality

We establish a verified emissions baseline across all three scopes using GHGP Sport methodology. Scope 3 fan travel, supply chain, and broadcast infrastructure are quantified — not estimated. The output is a materiality matrix that ranks interventions by carbon impact and commercial risk. No aspirational targets without evidence.

  • // CSRD-Ready Data Architecture
02
Strategy Phase

Roadmap & Governance

The roadmap is not a wish list. Every intervention is costed, sequenced, and assigned an accountable owner. We build the governance structure — the sustainability committee terms of reference, board reporting cadence, and third-party assurance pathway — so the roadmap is approved, resourced, and tracked from day one.

03
Delivery Phase

Delivery & Reporting

We sit alongside your operations team through delivery — not as advisors issuing memos, but as embedded partners who know which contractor is on site and which board paper is due Friday. Annual sustainability reports are produced to GRI, TCFD, and CSRD standards. Assurance is arranged. Numbers are signed off.
